The Neighborhood Marketing Initiative (NMI) was designed for Trane dealers across the country. The program targets neighborhoods using a three-pronged marketing approach: yard signs, door hangers, and direct mail cards blanket the neighborhood of an existing customer. Direct mail cards invite neighbors to take advantage of valuable discounts and promotions. NMI allows dealers to gain immediate credibility in neighborhoods that they want to target for future business.

McCarthy Heating & Air Conditioning in Burke, Virginia, had great success with NMI. A small investment in the program resulted in the sale of five systems that represented $21,000 in sales — a 16 to 1 return on investment!
